Towering above the trees just southwest of the Mackinac Bridge, Bay Wind Power, Inc. installed two windmill generators that supply 4000 megawatts of power each to the local residents utilizing alternative power sources. Standing at 256 feet tall with blades that are 70 feet long the windmills can be seen as you cross the Mackinac Bridge coming from or going to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. A little over two weeks to complete both windmills, it took 120 anchor bolts in each base to secure the windmills to the foundation.
